Meet Tony Hartsook, an employee of EE for 22 years. Tony has worked in several different capacities for the company and has spent most of his recent years as one of our lead technicians. He works on a variety of projects, specializing in programming, networking, on-site engineering and problem-solving.
We asked the following questions to get Tony’s insight:
1. What is one of the most significant technological shifts you’ve seen happen in your time in the industry?
Tony: The most important shift that I have seen is the transition from analog to digital communications technologies. We went from analog flip phones to internet-connected smart phones in a decade’s time.
2. What task/install/programming/activity do you like to work on the most at EE?
Tony: I have done a lot of different jobs during my time at EE, but I enjoy educating our current and future customers about our products the most. To do that, I have to stay current on new technology and techniques which keeps every day interesting.
3. What is one thing that readers/friends might be surprised to know about you?
Tony: If our office pool hits the lottery, I would like to go to culinary school because I enjoy cooking and would like to learn to cook like a chef.
4. What are some of the things you like to do in your free time/hobbies?
Tony: What free time?! If I had more, I enjoy biking, camping and the outdoors, and working on classic arcade games and amusements.
Tony lives in Des Moines with his wife Londa and son Hunter.
