June 2021 marks an exciting time for eEngineering (EE). The company will be celebrating its 75th anniversary.

What started with a single location back in 1946, primarily as a service and repair company which fixed TVs, console stereos, washers, dryers, and even window air conditioners, eEngineering (EE) has now grown to 10 offices in both Iowa and Nebraska, employing 100 people, servicing customers in several states. A strong partner for over 70 of those years with Motorola Solutions, providing communication technology to a variety of industries, including education, hospitality, health care, utility, manufacturing and public safety partners, EE holds the Elite Status (highest level) with Motorola in professional radios sales, service partner repairs, and Manufacturer’s Representative Sales (public safety market).

EE continues with many diverse products and numerous wireless solutions, like IP Security Video Management and Access Control, GPS vehicular telematics, point-to-point microwave links, and dispatch consoles. A pioneer in the beeper and paging industry in the 1960’s, it recently sold off that piece of the business to a national messaging company. It was a pioneer in many communications products, like being one of the first centralized voicemail systems, non-operated assistance of paging, and the first cell phone call in Iowa was made in one of its building in 1986.

EE’s mission to provide the best goods and services to its customers has made it a leader in its industries and hopes to continue providing services that make its customers’ lives safer, more efficient, and enjoyable both for the past 75 years and on into the next 75 years.

And most of all, thanks to all of you, our customers, who have helped make EE successful.

On Thursday, March 11, the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act was signed into law. It is an unprecedented $1.9 trillion package of assistance measures, including $122 billion for the ARP Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER) Fund. Funds are provided to state educational agencies and school districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation’s students.

Now is the time for school districts to leverage these available funds and invest in a common security platform for your voice, video and data needs.

Funding Highlights

The American Rescue Plan provides another $122 billion to the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER III) created under the CARES Act as part of the Education Stabilization Fund. This program is administered through the U.S. Department of Education and is intended to support efforts by states and school districts to safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools as well as address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation’s students.

The FCC is no longer issuing paper licenses and will cease accepting paper filings for wireless licenses or antenna registrations as of June 29, 2021; the same date on which it will convert all correspondence to electronic communications. Licensees should confirm that they have a valid email address on their licenses and Antenna Structure Registrations (ASRs).

If you or your organization has an FCC license, eEngineering will be happy to assist you in updating your communication with the FCC, and also can be an authorized contact on your behalf. Effective immediately eEngineering will require an email address for licensees/applicants for all applications to conform with this FCC mandate. With an email on file at the FCC, licensees will receive an official “soft” copy of their licenses upon application grant. To ensure that licensees receive the official copy, the FCC suggests that applicants set email preferences to allow incoming email from “authorizations@fcc.gov” before their applications are submitted.
