Paul Boyken has been with Electronic Engineering for 24 years. As an outside service technician, Paul has seen the world of two-way wireless communications evolve and change in significant ways.
What are all of the different “hats” you’ve worn while at Electronic Engineering?
Paul: I’ve done pretty much everything you could think of when it comes to wireless communications, from radio programming, tower work, camera and access control installation, paging systems and complete dispatch console systems.
What’s a favorite project you’ve recently worked on?
Paul: We recently completed a large access control project at the Hancock County Courthouse. The project included an installation of 17 key fob sensors for security purposes. The access controls are monitored by Genetech software which enables administrators to turn on and off key fob access, view statistics on door opens and closes, and provides general diagnostics on door security.
What is one thing that readers and friends might be surprised to know about you?
Paul: I enjoy vacations in Arizona every year with my family and really enjoy visiting different places. In my spare time I enjoy floor tiling and doing woodworking projects on our home. I also work on my large garden which has been a favorite for many years.
What are some of the things you like to do in your free time?
Paul:I like to spend time with my wife Denise, family and great friends. I enjoy various activities outside including fishing, shooting at gun ranges, and four-wheeling. I also like to grill and smoke meats.
Paul lives in Lake Mills with his wife Denise. He has two children and one granddaughter. They are expecting their second grandson any day. |
