Reminder – effective Oct. 24, 2021, you must dial all ten digits of a local phone number in the EE service area with area codes of 515 (IA), 319 (IA), and 309 (IL). It is part of the new “988” nationwide suicide prevention lifeline, being able to just dial 988 – and reach assistance.
EE provided radios for the IMT Des Moines Marathon, as it has for over 12 years. This year there were over 5,000 runners from 48 states and nine countries that participated Oct. 17.
EE provided radios for the World Food Prize held in Des Moines Sept. 17-19. The World Food Prize is the foremost international honor, recognizing achievements of individuals who have advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity, or availability of food in the world. The $250,000 annual award recognizes contributions in any field involved in the world food supply.
EE again supplied wireless communications to the Stand Down for Veterans event in Des Moines Sept. 17-19. This event supports needs of veterans, including dental, legal aid, housing assistance, clothes, even a good meal or a haircut. Over 500 veterans and homeless families were provided assistance and support.
